This morning as I was writing, I realized something interesting,
that the word ignorance likely had a different meaning in the past,
now days its similar in meaning to illiterate or un educated....
but I realized the root word was ignore..... which has more to do
with listening skills, than one's ability to read or write......
So I'm suspecting that in pre-literary pre writing times, an
ignorant person was one who wouldnt listen to advice and/or
warnings....
And I realized there was still a modern aspect to the realization...
that virtually everyone now reads at one level or another, and
everyone has read varying degrees of litereature, and
quasi-literature... and that the Elite and their attitude of
superiority goes back to when not all humans read or wrote... meaning
they are splitting hairs for their vanity's sake, and belittling
others with lesser degrees, but perhaps better practical educations,
or perhaps even better read....
And the amazing part to me, is those arrogant types seem to have come
full circle.... they are the "Drone Gods!", and consider themselves
intelectually superior to common man who has only a public library,
and not an Ivy League wall hanger.....
And recently it has become obvious to self and others, that these
same types think they can ignore things like the Constitituion, or
the wishes of the body politic, or as with the Tao, Bible, or other
ancient teachings, they can ignore also long held truths, and run the
universe to suit their hormones & vanity.... Gee? if they are
ignoring warnings and truths, they may be literate, or highly
educated, but they are simultainiously ignorant, and more than a bit
stupid.... maybe terminally so.....
funny how one can be cultured, lettered, and willfully ignorant at
the same time...
whoda thunkit?
